3 2015 Goodfellow Bishop Creek PN @ $40

1 2010 D'Armailhac $80
3 2000 Rauzan-Ségla @ $162
12 1982 Nameless Wine @ $120

The Nameless Wine is a flyer as there is so much bottle variation in older vintages of this wine, especially in 1982. I hope for six good bottles from the case with one or two being outstanding.

Guys
I have realized that I don’t need any more red wine unless I live to over 100. At the moment I have around 2000 reds mainly Bordeaux, Burgundy and smatterings of others from Cote Rotie to Coonawarra.

Recent purchases have been mainly Chardonnay from Australia and Burgundy and NV Champagne. Unless Singapore turns frigid (yeah sure…) we are likely to rely on more white and sparkling wine - even bought some Tasmanian bubbly lately - first time in decades.

I’ve been picking up Margaret River Chardonnay like Cape Mentelle, ashbrook, Thompson and the best of all, Leeuwin Estate Art Series, plus southern Victorian Chardonnay like Bellevale, Soumah, Oakridge and Stoniers.

I’ve also bought several cases of NV Champagne- I hoped that Covid would crash prices but alas they haven’t. However we have bought many cases of a negotiant Champagne which is a Premier Cru Blanc de Blanc for a bargain price.

It has been many years since I’ve bought Shiraz. Just does not cope with the weather here. Oh well.

Interesting. This looks like the third month in a row with no 15% off sale, Gerry, looks like they've stopped it completely?

For Sept it's 15% off southern hemisphere wines, useless to me lol.

Nice! Switching slowly from 2015 to 2019? From my limited 2019 opened, I feel I like a lot that vintage too. Will 2019 end up my second favorite vintage, of the 2010’s, after 2016?

Yes but unfortunately that Internet Wines deal on the d'Armailhac was too good to be true, they charged my credit card and then said they don't ship to Maine. Thus I'm still looking to add some 2019 d'Armailhac to my cellar. The rest of the wines were purchased at the ever reliable Saratoga Wine Exchange.

Thanks for the reminder, Jim!

I just bought another mixed case of 2019s from InternetWines:
-d'Issan x 4 for $45 (to bring my total to 12)
-Branaire Ducru x 3 for $40 (to bring my total to 12)
-Langoa Barton x 3 for $40
-Gloria x 2 for $30

Irresistible prices. They have a bunch of 2016s on sale as well at very, very attractive prices too (only about 20-25% more than their low 2019 prices).

They don't ship at all to Colorado either, but they will ship to Wyoming with a "hold at Walgreens" option. Seeing as how we periodically gather in Fort Collins for wine dinners and Cheyenne is only 40 mins further north from there, that was my solution.

Jim, they offer a a "hold at Walgreens" option in New Hampshire, so if these prices are really calling you, just check that box in the cart and give them a Walgreens address in NH for shipping info (e.g. I see one handily located in Portsmouth at 2460 Lafayette Rd, NH 03801).

Wow
Those prices are good.
I can usually pick them up here for not much above wholesale, though the taxes, levies etc here are high and prices are accordingly way above US levels. Yet US prices are often below European prices when the exchange rates are factored in.

I am troubled with 2020.
I have enough wine to last for 20 years which is a bit crazy at my age. Yet the 2020s are really nice - a more modern style than 2019 but with plenty of class.

I’m putting on a few 2010 vs 2020 and 2009 vs 2010 tastings in the next few months and just don’t know if I can resist. Oh well….

Cheers
Mark

I haven’t bought from them recently, but I did get some wine from them circa 2008 and I’ve used the Hold at Walgreens option before at other retailers without issue. Isn’t there a thread on WB with more recent testimonials?

Hey, according to my spreadsheet tally, if I stopped buy wine today and drink (and sell) on average as much wine as I have over the last decade, I have only 8 years of wine left! That’s a five alarm fire! In 8 years, I’ll still be in my 50’s and devilishly handsome, which compared to our most recent presidents would make me a spring chicken.

I woke up at 3:00 am and could not get back to sleep. I looked at my phone to find an e mail with a few bargain wines. Only after buying 2 bottles of Conseillante 1998 and one bottle of Haut Brion 1959 did I fall back asleep. So the secret to sound sleep, buy more wine.
