@DavidK: You set a record for me: 35 different wines posted on BWE and I have not tasted any of them in any vintage!

Stefan, it's too bad that we don't live closer. I'd be happy to open any of them with you! In my opinion, wine is meant for sharing

I loved the 7 SpringsPinot Noir from St. Innocent; not so much from Evening Land. I never tasted a 7 Springs Chardonnay. How are they compared to other Oregon Chardonnays?

It's much richer and less steely than other Oregon Chardonnays that I've enjoyed over the past few years. The oak influence is palpable, and there is a buttery viscosity. I'm disinclined to describe wine in terms of secondary and tertiary characteristics. Ir's a big wine, and, in my opinion, a nice match for rich dishes.

Sounds like I might not like it much, David. Strange that Dominique Lafon would make a buttery Chardonnay. Maybe he is no longer consulting for Evening Land.

I bought some Savoie wines from Gilles Berlioz e few days ago. An interesting domaine, biodynamic, with a bunch of cuvees done in a nearly natural way where eeveybody is paid the same (wines are not cheap though...). Opened the cuvee "Jaja" 2022, a white Chignin wine and it is quite a different wine from anything I know but quite interesting and well balanced... although initially with gas and smelling a bit like cider. Went well with smoked fish and home made (partly home grown veg) soup.

Some 2019 St Emilions - Clos Fourtet (one of my favorite wines from Bordeaux), Beau-Sej-Becot, and Clos L’Oratorie. Drinking the BSB right now - utter deliciousness. Perhaps a touch more wood than I like on the finish, but delicious nonetheless. 93

I got these from a reliable USA source who brought them in from Italy. I don't know exactly where in Italy my source acquired these bottles, but I watched the unpacking of the wines when they arrived in this county. I'm hopeful!

Good thing David.

I personally bought a lot lately, but few Bordeaux. But 3 bottles of 2016 Château Lafon-Rochet found their way to me!

I’m (trying) to limit myself to one unicorn bottle a month this year while in retirement. I have way too much wine as it is. So I bought a 2019 Chateau La Violette. I hesitated because of the price, but I’ve always loved the owners’ Le Gay. I don’t see it that often and wanted to add to my cellar. Hope it’s good some time in the distant future!

2019 Giscours is a beauty, David, probably runner up for wine of the year. I’ve been filling out my mixed case orders of the fancy stuff in NH with bottles of 2020 Felsina Berardenga Chianti, I just love that wine and will be forever grateful for JC Northway’s enablement in that regard.

And I just keep buying it, Jim. About to order my second case of the 2020 regular bottling. And just ordered a case of the 2020 Riserva. Hard to find a better wine for good old fashioned Italian dishes (or whatever other excuse you have for opening a bottle).

A local retailer had a clearance sale on 2014, 15 and 16 Bordeaux and I just had to help them liquidate some.

Bought Branaire, Lagrange, Cantemerle, Monbosquet sms Du Terte cheap plus a few decent CBs and Pomerols. the Tour Bessan Margaux was a very nice wine at a decant price point.
