You'll recall, I called the 2012 presidential electoral vote to the exact number.
Until today, I was hoping that there might be some light for the Democrats.
But I see that pill Scott Brown has pulled even in NH, a very bad harbinger for the Democrats nationwide.

Obama's been looking more incompetent with each passing month. The "response" to Ebola has been ghastly. We're only lucky that it's not more easily transmitted. It's like he's trying to catch W. That doesn't help.

US politics in general are very depressing, IMO. Especially as we move closer and closer to a plutocracy. Why do think ISIS is able to recruit youth from around the world? Young people today see a world where their chances of success grows dimmer and dimmer. Rant over.

About as bad as I expected, maybe a little worse.
Blue state Maine went heavily Republican, like the rest of country.
A Republicsn wave!
I will say this, our crazy governor ran an excellent campaign.
He's nuts, but he's not phony.

Yes, I think people are ready to move on. The emperor has no clothes at this point.

and the Free State elected a Republican governor as the Democratic candidate ran a truly lackluster campaign. I was unimpressed with our choices from the start but look forward to hearing the new governor express some specifics about his plans. His campaign consisted of a truly "feel good" platform. Onward and upward.

I wish we had a leader with the calibre of Obama rather than an overgrown schoolboy.

Is Hilary a shoe in for the Democratic nomination? And have her chances soured for 2016?

I really don't think Hilary is the answer. I am all for a woman President but not someone as divisive and disingenuous as her.

Who are the front runners for the GOP?

In 2012 it was a chamber of horrors...seemed like most of the candidates belonged to the lunatic fringes.

Romney is still the only viable reasonable Republican candidate, but he is aloof, unlikeable, and not sympathetic to the downtrodden. Obama has good points, to be sure, but he is the most administratively incompetent president since Carter. As bad as Bush was (do historians still debate whether he was the worst president of all time?), the executive branch at least functioned during his terms. Hilary is experienced and fair minded, and Bill will be a great first guy if he can be persuaded to keep his pants on.

I have to agree with stefan on all counts.

I was so unimpressed with our choices for Governor in Maryland that I left that slot on my ballot blank. I couldn't in good conscience vote for either of them.

Being president more and more is an exhausting job. Hilary would be about 70 if elected. Towards the end of her tenure at SOS, she looked wiped out. I really wonder if she or anyone her age is up for the leadership role.

I want to see a Warren-Klobuchar ticket for the Dems in 2016.

If I say neither party has a presidential candidate that is inspiring, would you disagree?? Don't count out Rand Paul.

If I could cut Rand Paul in half I would vote for him.

There are positions held by Rand Paul that I really, really agree with, and there are positions held by Rand Paul that I really, really disagree with.
