Quest for Dal Forno Romano Amarone.

As I have reported here before, my single greatest experience with a wine was at Saraceno Restaurant in the North End of Boston back in the late 1990s.
Our waiter recommended to us a bottle of 1988 Dal Forno Romano Amarone.
It is one of the very few wines I have ever rated 100 points. It literally brought a tear to my eye, it was so spectacular.
For years afterwards I tried to get a hold of a bottle... came VERY close to a case of the 1988 at a place in DC, before a Texas millionaire scooped it away from me.
Finally, this week, after nearly 20 years of collecting wine, I got a single bottle of the 2008 Dal Forno Amarone from Zachys.
16.5% alcohol! Baby doll!
I wonder how long I should let it age?

You may want to designate it to someone in your will. :)

Good job BD. BTW, for anyone looking for an Amarone that won't break the bank, I've drunk several of the 2007 San Rustico 'Gaso' . Still needs some time but an hour or two in the decanter and the wine really shines. $30 directly from WTSO.Free shipping almost anywhere in the US with a minimum purchase of 4 bottles.

I was thinking of buying a 2010 Sassacaia as well.
It looks like the highest rated of the recent Sassacaias.
Is 2010 a good year in Italy? How about 2009 and 2011?
