A Vin des Collines Rhodanniennes, made by Jean-Michel Gérin. This is probably 100 % syrah, in exactly the same area where Côte-Rôtie are made, but this vine is in the Côte-Rôtie AOC, and a few feet away, after the AOC limitation, it is Collines Rhodaniennes... Anyway, the wine is not as elegant as the Rôtie, but medium red, with a nice nose of cherries, red berries, flowers, smoke and a light touch of cough syrup. In mouth, just a touch of rough, but very genuine and good. Cherries flavors, blackpepper, light vegetal bitterness, bitter red berries. Good acidity, wood, light tannins, decent long final, minerals. Not fat or velvety. A edgy mineral syrah, grown on the rocky slopes next too Ampuis, genuine and very good. TN : 87-88.

I can't remember when is the last time I opened a red Bordeaux, but next weekend, i will drink minimum one bottle of red Bordeaux, If not two.
