Jim,
The headline in Le Monde was "The French 9/11".
The country is in a state of shock. It's not just the deaths. It's the attempt at intimidation and attack on free speech, very dear to people since Voltaire.
The French were moved that Obama went to sign a book of condoleances at the French embassy.
Let us just hope that that uneducated "Archie Bunker" types don't equate the radical Islamists with the millions of Muslims who live in France, who have unanimously criticized the massacres.

I'm sad, with the Français.
I just don't understand how people can become like that.
Please, just hope it is over, nobody, no city, no country deserves that.

There was the largest demonstration today that I have seen in over 30 years here.

Several news outlets said millions marched in Paris today. Wow! Tim, were you in town? What was it like?
