Red red wine

Post by Nicklasss »

2012 Château du Grand Caumont Impatience: inexpensive and civilized Corbières. Rasberries, herbs, dry cranberries. Good fruit flavors, smoke, ripe tannins, but short final. Very good. TN : 87.

2010 Château des Seigneurs de Pommyers: a simple red Bordeaux. Organic wine. Nice color. Nose is not complex but clean aromas of red currants, light red pepper, and red berries. In mouth, medium density, red currants, red licorice, earthy flavors. Light wood. Ok but limited. Some light bitter tannins on the final. TN: 83-84.

This week, I received an order of six bottles of the 2012 Chambolle-Musigny from Alain Hudelot-Noellat. This should be way better than these two!

As much as I remain unconvinced by Langedoc-Roussillon wines, I am a fan of Corbières, one of the best value French wines there is.

I have visited Hudelot-Noellat in Vosne-Romanée. Small, quality operation. I'll be in Burgundy in a month's time. Don't know if a visit to them is on the programme.

All the best,
Alex R.
