2000 Haut Bages Liberal

No decant -- pronounced bouquet upon popping the cork, the nose is not complex but strong blue fruits, lightened wine rim in the glass, pencil lead and slight herbs, nothing hard or angular in the mouth, a bit low in acid. Very nice. Classic Pauillac. I think this is quite a bit better than Lannesan, D'Armailhac, Haut Batailley, and other similarly classed 2000 bordeaux wines that I've had. No blockbuster, but I'm very glad I have 5 more of these. I will drink these up within 5 years. I will try the Duhart next as I've been sitting on those -- hope it will be as good.
