With sausages pesto cream pasta for meal, MC wanted something italian to drink. Personnally, i would have go for an unexpensive Bordeaux, as there was no tomatoes or tomato sauce...
The 2013 Paolo Conterno Bricco Barbera d' Alba is very " italian" in style, that mean rustic and missing some fruit for me. Niçe cherry red color, nose is strong on bitter dark berries, and what else, maybe cherry wood, but young and unidimensionnal. Mouth is bitter and high acidity. No fun to drink. Bitter cranberries, wood, red berries. Short. Two small glasses were enough for me. Ah well, maybe it is better for cooking... Snif snif?.. TN: 78.
And no, even If when that happens, i feel like I should open something else, I'm not doing it. Better luck next time.
