TN: 1999 Lynch Bages

Served with flank steak and shallot red wine sauce, what a lovely wine. At age 16, this Lynch was in a really good place. It is great to see how some of the so-called "not great vintages" can find a way to shine. The tougher tannins of 7-8 years ago have given way to a lovely balance of fruit and traditional Pauillac characteristics, but still enough tannin to create a great balance. This was the 5th bottle out of my six. I'm wishing I had saved all of them for now!
