TN: 2001 La Tour-Carnet

Post by Roel »

Château La Tour-Carnet Haut-Médoc 4eme GCC 2001: Modern, slightly commercial and tasty too. Cedar, black cherry, tobacco, licorice, chocolate, fine oak. Love the freshness after 14 years. A well-made wine, only lacking some soul compared to the rough Sociando it stood up against. Still 90 points My first case 'en primeur', 3 bottles left. No hurry.

This note gave me a little courage to hold off on my case of 2005s a little bit more.
I've been wondering whether this wine will age.
Like you said, in the case of the 2005 I found it enjoyable but lacking in soul.
