TN: 2004 Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru 'Vaillons'

Post by Roel »

Vincent Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru 'Vaillons' 2004: Shy appearance at first, but opened nicely. Yellow fruit, minerals, pineapple, dry and ripe. This wine resembles riesling in a way, as it is clear that minerals and stones are more obvious than 'just fruit'. It's also fresh, open, very elegant and sophisticated. Good finish, big like! 90-91 points

I had a wine tasting over at my house a couple years ago, it was me, my lawyer friend Tony, his lawyer wife Jennifer, and 15 female clerks from the local district court.
The vintage I served from this property (the '05 maybe?) was one of their favorites among some pretty heavyweight reds, it was singing that night.
It was a memorable night, me, Tony, 16 women, and a lot of wine from my cellar....
