TN: 2005 Du Glana
Château du Glana St. Julien CB 2005: On of the few St. Julien Cru Bourgeois. The property is a reliable producer, located not far away from classified growth Ch. Langrange. 59 hectares under vines, 55% cabernet sauvignon and 45% merlot were used in the '05-blend. Yields at 45hl/ha, with harvest commencing on 26th September for the merlot, followed by cabernet four days later. Pop and pour this St. Julien. Open nose with forest fruit, licorice, lavender, cinnamon and cedar. Some funky tones too. On the palate black cherry, licorice, leather, tobacco and soft tannins. Touch of earth there. Fresh finish, but not that long. Likeable wine, showing elegance and some depth. Ready to go! 88 points
