2010 Ascheri Barolo Pisapola on a warm Boston spring afterno

Post by JimHow »

Hung out in Boston's North End today, after watching the the Sox play the Nationals at Fenway.
Had a tasty little Barolo, fresh, fragrant, rose petals, medium bodied, 14%, nice acidity, fruity, very delicious with the fine food at Restaurant Fiori on Hanover Street.
91 points.
A beautiful spring afternoon, the sun felt good.
Boston sports fans will recognize these thugs sitting next to us, Boston Bruins players Milan Lucic, Adam McQuaid, Brad Marchand, and Dennis Seidenberg, among others.

That's an odd bit of infanticide - drinking 10 barolo now!

We'll see which of those Bruins is still hanging around after this off-season. They need to do some house-cleaning after this year's disappointing season! Already started with the GM...

Yes, although I'm a Claude fan, I hope they don't let him go.

The 2010 Barolo is supposed to be massive and massively good. I had a 2010 Nebbiolo from a producer that escapes me at the moment and it was big, fiercely tannic and probably ageworthy in its own right.

Ha my buddy said the same thing about the golf clubs.
A rough year. Very inconsistent. One night they would look like world beaters, the next they couln't get out of their own way.
The Barolo was delicious!
