Two very good white Bordeaux last week :

2013 Château Bertinerie : lots of Sauvignon character, gold acidity, grass, lemon, very good.tn: 84-85.

2013 Château Villa Bel-Air: Graves, even better. Good mix of Sauvignon and Sémillon. Good oak, litchi, pinneapple, vanilla, light ginger and yellow apples. In mouth, Medium power, still oak, but well integrated into the minerals and exotic fruit. TN: 88.

Despite much efforts, and trying the range of wines up and down, I've never been able to get enthusiastic about these.

The only one I'll buy -- rarely -- is Clos Floridene. It can age.

It seems like many of the Sauternalia are going to start shifting some of their harvest over to drier whites.

I'm with you Arv, not a big fan of Bordeaux dry white. I prefer the less expensive stuff to the Crus Classés.

The Villa Bel Air was very good, but even than, i prefer drinking Chablis.

I'm with you too on the Clos Floridène, probably one of my favorite dry white Bordeaux. But price went up here for that wine, in the last 2 years (from 30 to low 40s).
