Haven't had this in quite a while. No question this Chateau rides under the radar. Never had a bad bottle from the scattered vintages through the 2000's that we've enjoyed. This is at its early days of maturity with nice Bordeaux cassis, round tannins and good length getting better as time enjoyed over 2 hrs with dinner. Tannins evolved and ready for early enjoyment with decade plus ahead. Wish that I had more. A solid 90+pts.

Yup; Clos l'Oratoire is a very reliable estate. 2002 was a difficult vintage on the right bank. I wish I had bought Clos l'Oratoire instead of Pavie Macquin.

The 2010 is what I dubbed..."the panty dropper!!"

Glad you liked it. I didn't have as much success with Count What'shisname's third offering in that vintage, the Ch. d'Aiguilhe. Not a complete bomb but harsher and greener than his offerings usually are. I chocked it up to tough right-bank vintage.

I recall really liking this wine from 1996, another year not exactly known for greatness on the right bank.
