Tasted blind...i nailed pauillac but guessed mid nineties...thought it was '95 pontet. .. crunchy red fruits...sweet leather...pencil shavings....truffle....coffee....minerals....earth....this is fuqn dreamy pauillac heaven

This was terrific on release and did really well against some heavy hitters at a Pauillac tasting in 2006. I drank all my up early, glad to hear it's still going strong.

I drank mine up early too. It was a good wine to pour to those who would not want severe/austere/serious Bordeaux.

I recall it being smooth and pleasant and deliciously drinkable from the day it hit the shelves.

The 2006 d'Armailhac was likewise a similar, very approachable, light on its feet, delicious Pauillac.
Too bad this once $20 wine now goes for $65+.

I think I got my bottles of the '99 for $17.99 on sale from WineX back in 2002. Breaks thr heart a little.
