I am very excited about this trip!!!

A couple of observations:

1. In 2005, the last Chateau we visited was our dinner at Chateau Palmer. In 2015, this will be the first one we visit. So there is some interesting continuity between 2005 and 2015!
2. The visit to Pontet Canet will be very special given the history that we have with this Chateau. We have been invited as guests of M. Alfred Tesseron, an extremely special treat!
3. We are ending the trip with the two properties of the 2010 BWE Convention 1989 Rematch: Lynch Bages vs Pichon Baron! http://www.bordeauxwineenthusiasts.com/ ... 38&start=0
As many remember, this was a virtual tie. It will be great to end with these two iconic Chateaux!

I'm thinking that it might be fun to have everyone that could not attend BWE France 2015 to open either a Lynch Bages or a Pichon Baron the evening of Friday May 22nd and post some tasting notes, sortof a virtual tasting to coincide with the event?

Tim,<

Nice walk down memory lane with reminder of the great 2010 convention in Chicago. Fabulous wines but more important are the memories from the events. Only 5 years later and Kathy/Rick, and Werner/Chris are no longer in site. I'd imagine the latter two have their hands full with Tessa and hopefully the former are doing well even though no longer enjoying the grape juice like they so much did in the past. Both couples are missed.

That is an itinerary to die for. I wish things had worked to be able to go. For anyone who is going, it should be a most memorable week. Great work by the planning committee.

Yes. I am stepping up my wine consumption now in order to be properly trained for the trip.

Never done one myself but I recall from looking at past arrangements these guys are admirably cost-conscious.

Alex really did most of the work, and Ian pulled in some of the top Chateaux, both did a tremendous job in organizing all of the vineyard visits!

The lions share of the credit should undoubtedly go to Tim and Alex. They did most of the spade work in pulling this all together, Tim organising meticulously and Alex pulling in most of the estates, writing letters in French. But we should not forget Bill's indispensable contribution in marshalling the finances. He has been our Charlie Watts.

The Itinerary is so fantastic that I feel like signing up now for the next one, whenever it is slated to be in 5, 10 or 15 years from now? I would die to visit my favs LB, Latour, PB, YQuem and Margaux, not to mention all in one trip and especially with great company.... Can we start making plans now for the next one please?

It's hard to believe it has been 15 years since my one and only visit to Bordeaux, in mid-September 2000.
We will definitely catch you next time CV and RG!
