Another stunning bottle of 2010

Post by Nicklasss »

Well, as we're opening 2010 red Bordeaux, even if these wines will be better In 15 years, seems like some are also complex and delicious young.

JimHow raved for the 2010 Château La Fleur Cardinale, a right bank wine, last night, and I'm pretty sure it is an excellent or great wine. Want it or not, in a blind tasting of 2009 Bordeaux, i preferred the La Fleur Cardinale to Malartic Lagravière, but rating the 2010 a 97? Is that the "1990 Beausejour-Duffau" of La Fleur Cardinale?

I had a Very good 2009 Château Serilhan last night, but I wanted more Bordeaux tonight. Instead of taking a chance, i opened a 2010 I already liked 2 times, the 2010 Chateau Cantemerle. Again tonight, a niçe dark red color, a superb nose of coffee beans, dark red berries, vanilla, soft spices, and light blackcurrants. In mouth, creamy, darkberries flavors, concentrated but also elegance. Dark tobacco, long final on oak, santal wood with good ripe tannins and light plums. This is a stunning Cantemerle. Will be excellent for a long time. Tn: 92-93.

Very nice Haut-Médoc.

It so hard to believe Cantemerle is spoken of like this. However based on the enthusiasm, even I bought one each of the 09 and 10.

I'm going to let them slumber a while.

Purchased a six pack of both the 09 and 10 Cantemerle based upon many fine reports. 89 was a stunning vintage for the property, so the CAN do it if all is well. The off-vintages are lean and better be avoided. Gonna let my 09 and 10 Canty's sleep for some time, though. Except for the one bottle of 09 that fell on the floor last year..

I'll admit that based on the BWE recommendations, I bought two cases of the 10 Cantemerle. It is rare for me to buy cases, but I just couldn't resist. Now I'll just need to resist opening them :)

But they are going safely into storage for awhile.

The 2009 is excellent, the 2010 is outstanding.
