Hi all !
For a crowd of 50 at a holiday party, I need suggestions for two sparklers, 2 whites, 3 reds, $18-$30 price range. Must be readily available at retail stores in California. Many thanks.

Re: Holiday wines
Montaudon is a decent Champagne, available for $29 at apparently all the Total Wine stores in California.
I like Cotes du Rhone for an inexpensive red. Saint Cosme Deux Albion and Grand Veneur Champauvins are good ones in your price range. Probably some good Zins in your price range as well but I'm not up to date on them. If you want to go with Bordeaux, Rochemorin is drinking well young, both 2009 and 2010, with the 2009 maybe more pleasing to the non-geek crowd. It shows nice Graves-y gravel (maybe not desirable for a non-geek crowd?) and is $25 at a bunch of Total Wines.
For white, a cheap Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc is often a crowd pleasing easy quaffer on a hot day.
