I checked with someone at K&L, it seems like this is happening, although not totally intentionally/deliberately.

Moral of story: if something is attractive, and in the shopping basket, don't hesitate!

They do give 90 days of hold til ship, so I guess the desire to checkout in one big gulp is not rational.

Zachys has 2014 Sociando Mallet for $29.99, Barde Haut for $30.99. Not sure if these are just OK prices or something special. Ends tonight so not much notice - I just saw it.

While I won’t be jumping on this offer, Guy Davies of Gordon’s emailed out the 2009 Château Lascombes @ $65/per which is a considerable discount off the current market

Apparently it was too good to be true

All,
Major apologies from me that there’s a serious error in this offer. There was a typo in the price from our supplier. The actual price of the wine is $95 rather than $65.

I will be e-mailing everyone individually that ordered the wine to discuss.

If you get CellarRaiders emails, todays is worth checking.

However it was sent at 11am, and realistically, I'm sure many items are long gone.

(I didn't see it til just now)

Still, if you do business with them, or are interested in older / fairly priced BDX, todays note is worth a skim.

Or look on the website to see what is left in real time.

Also all kinds of other interesting stuff, like older BV GdL

I'm not sure what their shipping situation is, which is one of my (many!) delimiters.

Just picked up a couple bottles of 1986 Climens at MacArthur's for $135 each. One of my favorites from Sauternes/Barsac at a reasonable price.

Winex has a couple 2015 Margaux on offer this morning

Clos Margalaine $27
Marojallia $49

They are Thunevin (of Valandraud fame) garage wines.

Those prices seem comparable to where 2005's went for.

And K&L is offering a couple of right banks at ok prices

2015 Mauvais Garcon Bad Boy $11
basic bdx AOC, but other vintages I've had have been ok/functional
2012 Domaine de l'A [Cotes de Castillon] $16 this has good ratings from like 8 different critics

Ben @ CellarRaiders had a big BDX offering this morn. Some of the 1990's seem interesting.

I bolded some random ones that seemed attractive, although I'm not really sure if those are actually that sharp prices compared to auction etc.

The 70 Giscours we had in DC 2 months ago was excellent. $95 seems a good price, and plenty of it available. Hopefully it’s been well stored. If I were still buying wine...

Presumably anybody who had that much bought it in OWC, and usually that means someone was storage/conditions conscious.

I'm really amazed by how much those second wines on the list are going for.

K&L has the 2015 Le Clementin de Pape Clement [Pessac Leognan] rouge for $26, price chopped down from $35.

Maybe normally $35 globally, but I have never tasted one.

Wine Advocates new BDX reviewer LPB gave it a 90.

For a second label that seems like a high score.

Note that pricing for K&L's sale items is highly dynamic now, so they may email out offers & prices, and a day later those prices are gone, with new higher rates en place.

Wow I didn't even notice that. I have 15 Poitevin sitting at Garagiste for me. Never had one.

Shipping is getting worse and worse.

Washington State has supposedly clamped down too.

That's weird for a West Coast + blue state. Normally they are ok with booze/vice type stuff.

I haven't had this estate in a long time but K&L is offering the 2014 Bouscaut rouge [Pessac Leognan] for $20

It has some ok reviews. Jeff Leve suggests its a lighter, red berry style of Graves

(Some of you might remember there is a Greek demi god named after his dog)

https://www.thewinecellarinsider.com/bo ... /bouscaut/

If someone was just learning about the region, 2012 and 2014 seem to offer fair prices, availability, and decent quality.

Instead I began with the 1993 and 1994 years.

Ouch.

Winex is having their annual Bastille Day / French Wines sale.

The offer is 10% off, but their prices are usually already Wine Searcher lows, or generally very competitive.

e.g. 2014 Clinet [Pomerol] is $57 or 2015 Rostaing 'Ampodium' [Cote Rotie] are $50 -- after discount

Use coupon code on checkout of VINS10

I noticed they have excluded a few categories this year; the discount did not work on 'in stock' 2015 BDX, even though that is not a stated exclusion like futures/prearrivals.

Sale was announced 7:20am PST, and things get picked over fast.

So if interested, click over there.

PS: this is a vendor whose shipments must be inspected carefully upon arrival.

it probably isn't a value. i'm actually surprised they are carrying it. i would have assume that would have gotten blown out in the big boxes, or in the French hypermarche, not actually exported to the US.

but objectively the price is lower than what I was paying for this estate's wine two decades ago

Gary’s Wine is running a 25% off or more end of summer sale right now, nothing eye popping but some decent deals on some 2014’s; Haut Bailly and Beausejour Duffau @ $71.98, GPL @ $58.79 and DdC @ $49.98 caught my eye ... happy shopping!

K&L is mostly second wines on Insider Advantage this morning, but does have the 2015 Saint Paul [Haut Medoc] for $8.

That's a good deal. It's right next to Charmail, and had their old importer, Jeffrey Davies, whose wines I generally love.

The wine is made in the same style - dense, flavorful.

It's also next to Sociando Mallet, but drinkable at a young age, unlike their stern neighbor.

I'm still finishing up the 2009 Saint Paul, but will get a few of these 2015's at such a silly price.

I'm sure 2016 will be better than 2015, but $8 is a cooking/braising wine kind of price.

For whatever reasons, my local supermarket has had very few bargains this late summer.

Normally they're a reliable source of my blancs & sparkling.

Only a few champers -- I picked up NVs of both Geoffrey Troy and Heidseck's blue label -- so far, and the wine steward seemed unsure if anything else would ever get repriced.

After really enjoying that 2010 Bernadotte earlier this week - which is a 50/50 blend of merlot and CS - I think I should be stocking that estate more often.

That is so much better than peers I think, both regionally and price wise.

What bargains are other BWE's seeing?

Santa Rosa Costco and Sacramento/Exhibition Costco has the 2014 Pedesclaux [Pauillac] for $20.

Very little at each, as its on closeout.

The Sacramento location has the wine in an OWC, buried behind a bunch of other stuff, by the smoked fish end cap. There is no sign for it, nor any pricing, but it does ring up at $19.97.

I've never seen/had one, as it has only started getting good reviews (and importing efforts) in the last couple of years.

That price is cheaper than K&L is offering their deuxieme.

I picked up a bottle, as well as a 2015 Ferriere [Margaux] for $37, which doesn't seem like a special price or anything.

It's been a long time, maybe since the 1999 vintage, that I've had that rebooted Margaux.

One of our NYC cadres was always a fan of their wines.

I haven't had their wines in a long time but K&L has the 2014 Les Ormes de Pez [St Estephe] for $24 this morning, about 3 cases.

Some relationship to JMC/Lynch/P.Baron etc.

Also Winex has the 2014 La Dauphine [Fronsac] for $15, although that's probably an estate to buy only in big years; 1990 and 1998 were quite good.

I just got an email from Total Wine Concierge Sales (that I won't be taking advantage of).
They have a limited supply of 2010 Ch. Angelus available direct from the chateau for December delivery to your local store, 6 packs in OWC for $2339.82

MacArthurs just emailed out the Claude Dugat 2014 Bourgogne Rouge for $29.99/btl

Here's an incredible price for a wine from one of Burgundy's iconic producers – Claude Dugat. Based in Gevrey Chambertin Claude Dugat produces powerful yet elegant wines that have earned him Worldwide acclaim for excellence. This is by far the cheapest price you'll see for this wine so...
Act FAST! It won't last long...

K&L has a few QPR this morning

2015 Clementin de Pape Clement (rouge) [Pessac Leognan] $25
2014 Tronquoy Lalande [St Estephe] $25
2015 Durieu [CNDP] $18

The St Estephe has pretty decent ratings from a half dozen of the usual critics.

The CNDP is (I think) a negociant blend I've not heard of but that price is a throwback to the 1991 recession or something.

2014 Marquis de Terme [Margaux] $23

https://www.winebid.com/BuyWine/Item/68 ... s-de-Terme

From their own inventory, it is a buy it now price.

Free shipping if you take 6. They have a few cases.

They also have the M de Terme, which I think is the deuxieme, for a couple of bucks less, so I don't think this is a mistake price.

There is a bunch of other stuff (from their own importer) also being offered up. It's not obvious to me that those are all values, but a few other BDX seem like they are low/fairly priced.

PS: 2015 grand vin is excellent btw!

Also HDH has some deals over this wknd. Shipping has gotten harder for me from them, so I don't use them any longer, but perhaps they will work for some of you. They have the 2015 Cantemerle for slightly under $30, which seems quite fair. Lots of other stuff which seem ok too. That 2015 Dragon de Quintus for $29 looks intriguing. Also the 2015 Petit Figeac for $33 (is that a new bottling? never heard of their deuxieme before). And the 2016 Dame de Montrose for $34. 2015 La Grave a Pomerol (indent) for $43

They have half bottles of the 2001 de Chartreuse [Sauternes] for $15 which seems quite reasonable.

I'm not familiar with it, but Coates had this to say

=============
Those splits are now $10. I still have never tried them.

I don't know if this is for real but....

https://www.winebid.com/BuyWine/Item/68 ... eau-Filhot

If you look very carefully at the label, you'll see that its the creme de tete

I'm not sure if that's just a stock photo, or the real one for sale, but if its really the TdC, that may be ok

Many years ago I once bought a 3 pack of 90 Filhots, and only upon opening one, maybe 5 plus years after purchase, realized I'd been sent the fancy bottling. I had regular 90's to compare them to as well - the top vats are a bit darker.

Maybe someone here will take a flyer on one

PS: JJB sent out a 'private client' offer on the 2015 Marsau for $17.50. The 2000 and 2001 were lovely, and kept very well. The 2015 vintage is likely to be strong, and the price is fair.
