2007 Boyd-Cantenac
Château Boyd-Cantenac Margaux 3eme GCC 2007: Needed some air to fully go full throttle. Then traditional (and likeable) Margaux aromas appeared. Rose petals, cherry, thyme, licorice, soft tobacco and leather on the nose. On the palate crisp and elegant. Touch of earth, pine, lavender, forest fruit, licorice and fine, but obvious tannins. Good and long finish. It's clear that a 'bad vintage' doesn't automatically result in bad wines anymore. Even when it's more crafted than in other years, the Margaux- typicity still is there. Well done. Give it a proper decant to score: 91 points
