2002 Canon la Gaffeliere in a Good Spot

Post by dstgolf »

With Jim's review on the SHL I decided to pull an 02 for dinner last night. Drinking beautifully and open for business. In that place between resolved but still present tannins and good fruit on the palate. No tertiary notes yet but Danielle doesn't have a problem with that and loved this one from start to finish. A wine that doesn't disappoint.

Good to see the right bank pulling its weight in that great vintage.

I haven't had a single right bank '02 that excited me. But then I have not tasted the '02 Canon La Gaffeliere.

Another estate I've not had in a long time. Kind of a special occasion wine in my mind.
