The 2014 Rose de Haut Bailly, is 100 % cabernet sauvignon. We don't See that type of wine often. But as much as Provence seem to be the place for the rosé, This Grand Vin de Bordeaux, rosé, is kinda excellent. Medium power, red berries, roses, light spices and light candy. In mouth, good présence for a rosé, light rasberries, mineral, grape fruit, good freshness, decent light pink flowers final.

On the internet site, they say it is 10% of the production.

A very good holiday, end of sunny day, wine.

Hi Nic,

These wines are often made by great châteaux as a result of "saignée" or bleeding wine off the vats so that the remaining wine is more deeply colored and concentrated.

I had a rose de Giscours a few months ago. It was functional.

They are kind of expensive for what they are, a byproduct of the grand vin.

Nic, I see you're vacationing down under again (bottom of the world, ma!) Or did the Bordeaux rose' just flip you head over heels?

We've had a bunch of one-off rose' wines from Bordeaux and they've always been really good. Domaine de Chevalier is a good one that we've had over several vintages.

In addition to Champagne I love a rose to start a feast. Especially on a warm evening.

I liked that rosé, and most of the one coming from Bordeaux. But we don't See them often over here. 26$ for that one from Haut-Bailly, and I think it is fair compared to some other from Provence at the same price.

I'll have another bottle with my bro in the next three day, and will try to report more details.
