2005 du Tertre

2005 du Tertre
From a 375ml purchased on release, followed for 2 days... This is ready to go, wide open and filled with sexy, spicy fruit. Nowhere near fully mature of course, but fun with the exuberance of youth. At first, the bouquet was a bit much for me, with slightly sickly whiff of stewed sur maturite, but with a few hours of air this toned down. The palate is smooth, nicely balanced and made for midterm consumption over the next 10 years, 15 at the outside. A mid-modern QPR, it won't make you forget the stalwarts of tradition, but no complaints on value. The last glass was the best. 90-91 pts.
