A nice medium to full body wine, with a great grape aromas, earth, blackberries and light oak. In mouth, great tannins, very good fruit with rasberries and blackberries and blackplums, medium acidity. Long smoky sandy finish. I preferred the 2005 Ardanza Rioja lately, but it was 50% higher price. For 23$, that 2009 Depadre is a "tour de force", that prove that excellent wine for affordable price still exist. Tn: 91.

2009 Depadre Rioja
Re: 2009 Depadre Rioja
WineSearcher says that LCB Canada sells it for $17.35. That is in USA dollars. Is the exchange rate really that out of whack?
Rioja in the USA is incredibly underpriced in comparison to comparable wines from other good appellations. Unfortunately, the choices are generally quite limited. For example, Depadre is not available anywhere in the USA according to WineSearcher.

US $ and CAN $ were equal a few years ago. Today, we're back to 0.75 US $ for 1 CAN $...
I can't buy Depadre because not available in Québec. I bought that bottle in
Ontario this summer.

Unfortunately Stefan exchange is now 30 cents on the dollar. $23 bottle less $6.90 comes to $16.10usd. Yes we are getting whacked again.
