a) ageworthy
b) good value
c) readily available

I've little experience with the vintage

As someone who sometimes goes to battle to recommend the little wines and "off" vintages of Bordeaux, I'm kind of embarrassed not to be able to offer any brilliant suggestions...
And I see that no one else has chimed in...

In my defense, I have drunk most of the 2007s I had, including the biggies.

I don't *deny* vintage generalizations (for instance, everybody in Bordeaux will admit that 2013 is weak at most estates), and the state of my cellar at the time was such that I really didn't buy many 2007s.

At this point, I think guidance (Cellartracker might help here) and a low price tag should be the main factors determining whether or not to buy, or what to buy.

Best regards,
Alex R.

This question seems like the old engineering saying "Good, fast, cheap - pick two."

I liked the 2007 Lagrange better than the 2005.

Thanks for the observations. I don't have high expectations, but its year to demarc in my life, and it seems odd not to have bdx from that. I've been stashing Rhones, and Italians, with a smattering of Spanish (not great year though), and feel like I should still keep looking for bdx.

The Sauternes seem well regarded, but there is such a plethora of great years to pick from in the last decade+

The La Mission and Haut Brion we tried on tour with the German lady were pretty darn good.

Joseph Druin Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru, possible a declassified "moose" is also pretty darn good.

Also anything from Northern Rhone and Piedmonte is pretty good. As I write this I have just popped a Michele Chiarlo Barolo Cerequio 2007 to go with my sphag bol tonight. It is modern but it is pretty good.

Excuse my vocabulary, which has gone on strike.

2007 d'Angerville Volnay Champans has been excellent.

White Bordeaux seems like it was at least good in 2007.

2007 Latour a Pomerol is drinkable, but I would not go looking for it. I have a lot more 2007 Sauternes than 2007 red Bordeaux.
