GPD four:an Audrey Hepburn-of-a-wine

Post by Comte Flaneur »

Red currants this is maturing quickly and the graphite and lead pencil of the last bottle seem to have shied into the background. Reassuringly medium-bodied it still has a lovely roasted haunting quality and is still recognisably Pauillac, but more oh so <elegant> and so accessible. It really is a rose. It still has excellent balance and poise, together with alluring cool fruit..and Hepburn-like poise, like the lovely Audrey I doubt it will make old bones, it is not as 'grippy' as it was two years ago. But if you crave for the essence of Paulllac in a feminine and accessible style this is a joy.

It's been a long time since I've had this estate, but I did pick up some 2010.

I hope the rumors of their improvement are true.

2004 Grand Puy Ducasse

Just adding a searchable vintage and name to the thread so the note isn't invisible to the search engine.
