is Nicklasss the new JimHow?

Post by Nicklasss »

Could it be?

I opened a very young Bordeaux tonight, and liked it. A 2012, a vintage we kind of appreciated last May, for the nice fruit, balance and elegance.

I guess this wine is not too modern in style, but that 2012 Chateaux Malartic Lagravière is well made. Nice medium red color, nose is very Pessac, with smoke, minerals, nice medium dark berries, light mintyness and powder cocoa. In mouth, very young, but with cocoa, good acidity, rocks, red berries flavors. Fine tanins, final is decent on plums, coffee and light oaky vanilla. Still very young, but in 10-15 years, should be better. But I don't think it is a 30 years wine, but who cares? Tn: 90+.

The terroir seem well represented in that wine. I'm happy to have some more, and i also have some 2008 and 2009, but did not open a bottle from those vintages.

Very nicely done, my son. I need to go down to Mass. and meet up with Gerry M. and pick up some 2012 du Tertre and give one a try….
