2013 Pruno from Finca Villacreces

Post by Nicklasss »

An affordable Ribera del Duero, that the WA rave about since a few vintage, giving some 93. The wine is 90% tempranillo and 10% cab sauvignon. The color is nice, the nose full of red berries, cherries, dark flowers, coffee, light candy, vanilla and spices. Complete nose. Mouth is well balanced, 13.5% alcohol, juicy, minerals, smoky, with great cherry flavors. Nice glycerin, soft medium final spicy rasberries, Green tobacco and noble wood. I agree that the quality price ratio is top. Don't know how it Will age, but à strong effort now for sure. Tn: 91.

I guess TRUONGTHANH should buy and drink that wine, instead of trying to do pomegranate wine. Don't worth the effort of making your own wine, when wines like that Ribera del Duero, at that price, are available.

I used to buy some Finca Villacreces when I was younger, but I think they're pretty big, heavy Spaniards. I pass on them now. I seem to remember the licorice being strong on these.
