Any theming yet? I am thinking I will bring a rare/aged Ganevat blanc, a very old CdP, and a nice BDX (maybe a 1998 Angelus or a 1990 Canon La Gaffeliere).

I am thinking I will make a very seasonal primi (nettle or spinach pasta with green garlic, bottarga and yuzu) and then Lisa will make a dessert. Does that work for you, MichaelP and Glenn?

1 - Due to Nalan's work on Sat, and that I cannot come up early, we will not be able to arrive until about 6p. Hopefully all the cooking can be accomplished in a timely manner so we aren't eating dinner at midnight.

2 - Given the above, let me think about what could be a secondi. Open to ideas.

3 - I love 90 Can Gaf but am a bit curious about the Angelus. My guess is that's too early?

4 - I'll pull a sticky, an old-ish Bordeaux and something else interesting. My cellar is a mess since trying to move out of storage to save costs, so the challenge will be finding what I have in mind.

It turns out my wife's college friends cancelled on her, so I can join in, if there's still room.

I don't think she can come as she wants to get working on holiday stuff.

Can someone mail me details? If we're cooking/potlucking all the better

thanks

Bad news folks - Lisa and I can't come.

I had to go to the ER this morning and got the diagnosis that I have a 9mm kidney stone. When they instantly give you morphine and then set you up with Percocet to go, you know you aren't going to have a good time.

Really sorry on short notice, but hopefully the rest of you will have a good time.

Ugh. Get better Ed! I saw my uncle suffer through a kidney stone attack once while we were at a campground, I have never seen a human being in so much pain before or since.

Feel better, Ed. Kidney stones are nasty painful, and 9 mm is a big one. Hope you are rid of it quickly.

Ed:

Sorry to hear about the stone, as I've also heard they are very painful, so hopefully it can be solved/dissolved easily and quickly. Pain is not fun.

We will miss you and Lisa, and look forward to the next gathering when you're pain free.

All the best!
