Bordeaux Wine Enthusiasts

I'd better start this thread so I can begin to gauge potential attendance. I'm closing in on a venue but it's not quite finalized so am holding off on more details. I will say that there will be:

1. passed hors d’oeuvres with champagne

2. 3 courses including a cheese course. I thought a cheese finale since Saturday will feature a sweet course.

3. Theme will be (as in the past) "anything but Bordeaux"

I've been away so will try and finalize the dinner this week.

I think my friends Thomas+Johanna will be just joining us.
Besides being fun, they are real wine+foodie people.

Ok, here's a draft menu for review. As usual, negotiating the corkage rate on a busy Friday night took quite a bit of back and forth but I'm working directly with Chriss Ricchi who is the owner. A question, sweet or savory as the third course? I can tweak this a bit but I like the menu overall and want to get it finalized asap.

Cost will be $150-155pp with the champagne starter all in. I believe everything, food, room, stemware etc will be a significant upgrade from 2014. Let me know thoughts and I will finalize price.

I'm trying to see if we can have a choice of sweet or cheese.

The menu looks good. If we cannot have a choice, I would lean toward sweet. By the way, good choice in venues. That is one of Paula's favorite places in DC; she was surprised and pleased to hear it's still there and that she can dine there again.

Ok, I think I will make it a sweet finish. Stay tuned for payment information.

Nalan doesn't arrive in DC until Sat morning, so she will only be at the Sat night dinner, not Friday.

And I'm not even sure about Thomas+Johanna as he indicted a week ago they weren't sure and I've put a few calls to him and haven't heard back yet.

630 for champagne and then 7ish to sit down for dinner. If you wish, you may drop off your wines anytime in the afternoon
