Re: Hotel for BWE festivities-The Dupont Circle
was just passing this along as it's a nice hotel so didn't see the rates. Obviously, standards are slipping with the absence of hm$. The place we used in 2014 is always having sales-Georgetown suites.
Re: Hotel for BWE festivities-The Dupont Circle
What is the name of the place used in 2014?
Re: Hotel for BWE festivities-The Dupont Circle
Georgetown Suites, Patrick. But their best available rate for our dates is $298.
Re: Hotel for BWE festivities-The Dupont Circle
Ah, I thought "Georgetown Suites" was part of a package of rooms. Thanks.stefan wrote:Georgetown Suites, Patrick. But their best available rate for our dates is $298.

The DoubleTree on Rhode Island near Mass Ave has good senior and AARP rate, $224.

Residence Inn at Dupont Circle also is an attractive option. Breakfast is included there.

Maybe Howard could still help us out.
Or we banish him.

Guys,
Even though I'm not going just played HM$ for a minute and searched www.hotwire.com north Georgetown Foggy Bottom and showing 2 places 3.5* at $160 and $181/night USD. I've used these guys not infrequently instead of www.priceline.com when I want to be at a particular location/area to try and minimize cost. Priceline also worth a try for someone to try and bid on a 4* room starting at $125 and working north over a few days to play Howards game then let everyone roll in. After all everyone just wants a comfortable place to sleep and once one person rolls with either company then everyone can follow. Just my two cents rec and good luck. Those initial prices sound a little too steep at this point.

I think we are better off at Dupont Circle - a better location and right at the Metro subway station. Also agree with Danny, need to check Hotwire, I often find excellent deals there.

That location is fine with me, Chris. I booked at Residence Inn at Dupont Circle because I qualify for a low rate that has free cancellation. Unfortunately, their other rates are over $300. But maybe they will agree to a group rate if enough people want to stay there.

Re: Hotel for BWE festivities-The Dupont Circle
I have only used Priceline a couple of times and never used Hotwire. But I'm confident that we can find something in the Dupont Circle area for a decent price. I checked the betterbidding.com site where people post what hotels they have gotten at what prices, and no one has posted anything for the dates when we will be there. I did look at Hotwire, and there are 4-star hotels in that area at or near $200 a night.
Re: Hotel for BWE festivities-The Dupont Circle
Appreciate the work/help to find the BWE hotel. Once we all decide on a place, I'm in.

Re: Hotel for BWE festivities-The Dupont Circle
hm$ has always counseled patience. I get tons of offers for the Georgetown Suites (where we stayed last time in DC.) If the the place doesn't fill up, they'll discount big time.
Otherwise, there should be better offers as we get a little closer.

Re: Hotel for BWE festivities-The Dupont Circle
I will trust you all that better deals are coming. I did just look and found the Beacon Hotel on Dupont Circle had rooms between 190 and 221. So that is always an option as well.
