' 99 Le Bon Pasteur - Pomerol

Post by SteveH »

My last bottle from the case, because they drank very well from release and this wine has never shut down. Medium ruby with a plump, plummy nose. This surprisingly un-Rolland-like medium weight Pomerol offers a more classic leanness, with good precision and purity. Nice flavors of dark cherry and vanilla. A very attractive wine with a sweet, long finish. Time to light up the grill. Cheers.

Well I'm drinking a 1999 Pavie MacQuin.
Yummy!

RDD, I have found that the 1999 right bankers (BP, Pavie & Troplong Mondot) are more attractive than the lefties; Lynch Bages, Leo. Barton, and some others. Mouton, however, has very good potential with time.
Glad you're enjoying the PM.

I agree, Steve. I have very much enjoyed '99 right bank wines. Pavie Decesse is another good one.
