Côtes de Bordeaux, near Cadillac. From that nice 2010. Concerning 2010, the Revue du Vin de France made a impressive statement about the vintage. When they were asked to say which previous vintage 2015 looks like, they couldn't answer, but they said that surely not 2010 as it is a "out of the charts" vintage, being too great... (It is maybe not exactly in this words they said that, but it meaned that).

The 2010 Chateau de Nénine is a fair inexpensive red Bordeaux, composed of classical blend : 40 merlot, 40 cab sauvignon and 20 cab franc. Nice old red color, with a nose of cherries, red berries, red licorice. Light nose. In mouth, sweet, soft, caressing, light, confit cherries taste, simple. An ok weekdays wine. Tn: 82. That could be enjoyed next to the pool. No tannic structure or acids.

Nic,

I love your expression "weekday" wine.

That's exactly it!

Some people drink rarely and, when they do, the want big wines and "a bang for their buck".

But regular wine drinkers - who obviously enjoy such wines too - ALSO enjoy less complicated, more easy-going, and ***less expensive*** wines that don't need to age or call for much fuss.

Wines such as this fit the bill nicely.

I can think of some better weekday red Bordeaux for the same price, but the wine would the perfect first red wine to make taste to someone who said that never liked red wine.
