I mentioned this on another thread, but since it is a bit broader...

Is there any interest in doing an offline dinner on the weekend of August 12th in NYC? I will likely be there as part of my US trip. Preferably the 13th, but I can probably make the 12th work also.

Thoughts?

I could do one in Oregon then, but not in NYC. Sigh.

Not yet, still just a proposal I need to sort out the rest of my schedule for my trip to the U.S.

There is a good chance Marjorie and me will be in NYC that weekend. I could probably do either the 12th or 13th but Marjorie has a distinct preference for Saturday night (13th).

Not sure I can make it but if I did it would be on the Saturday night date.

We won't be Chris, but we are targeting the weekend do 8-9 October to be in the big Apple.

Would love to do a Bordeaux offline. I have quite a bit residual wine in the City.

Would anybody be up for that?

I am currently scheduled to lead a hike on the Appalachian Trail in central Pennsylvania that weekend. If this is definite I'll try to find a substitute.

No Bordeaux for me this weekend but a great dinner last night at Gramercy Tavern with Marjorie.

I can recommend Le Mangeoire for a tasting in NYC's midtown east. They have a round table in front which is good for a group of 6-8 and makes it easy to discuss the wines. Corkage is $20 / person and they have great stems. Classic French food, under new ownership/chef. Total bill from a few days ago was ~$100/person.

I'd be down for a October 8 or 9th get together, with or without significant others but perhaps this topic deserves its own thread.

Sorry I had to bail on this idea. I am having some challenges with my house in NC and so had to fly down there for the week. That left no time to get back up to NYC for an offline. Will try to participate in something on a future trip!
