Some quick comments last 2 days

Post by Nicklasss »

2011 Ridge Lytton Spring: a lighter vintage, some around the table were deceived, but I liked the extra acidity that the zin is normally missing. Charcoal, rasberry jam, dattes, light tanins. Tn:89-90.

2014 Ganevat de Toute Beauté nature: an organic wine from Jura, made from gamay. Really nice even if foggy, nose is cranberries, strawberries, purple flowers. In mouth, light and fruity, mysterious, foggy acidity, black pepper, mineral tones on the final. A nice wine to drink in a sunny day, but a bit expensive. Hard to find. Tn :89-90.

2015 Chateau Puech Haut rosé: years after years, a great rosé.medium aromas of flowers, candy, ligth red berries, citrus. Mouth is medium power, very dry what i appreciate. Onion peel, flowers, white cranberries, citrus ans pomegranate flavors. Yumm. Tn: 90.

2014 Paul Prieur Sancerre: textbook nose of weed, light lemon, melon, mineral, bitter peach. In mouth good acidity, fresh, fruity, confit orange skins, lemon, acidic apples, minerality. Excellent. Tn: 91.

Tonight, it will be 2012 Chateau Léoville Barton....

I had a Puech Chaud rouge six weeks ago, from the 2001 vintage. It was very good.

Puech Haut and Puech Chaud had some legal quarrels over their names!

so Puech Chaud has become Puech Noble.

The name Puech Noble is more distinguishable from Puech Haut than Puech Chaud was? I guess there are fewer matching letters.

Going from hot to noble, hmmmm... sounds like a classic novel in there somewhere.
