A white Costières- de- Nimes, cuvée Compostelle, made of 90% roussane and 10% viognier. Color is firm yellow. Nose is nice, with sweet yellow fruits like yellow apples, light bananas and quince. Very light mint, and almonds too. In mouth, powerful low acidity attack, that is kind of sweet too (residual sugar level or very ripe grape vinified dry?). Flavors of concentrated camomille, vanilla tree, sweet pears and ligh peaches. Final is a little bit unfocused. A good wine, but not very my style. To my surprise, went well with the coquille saint-jacques. Tn: 85.
Missing acidity for my taste.

2014 Chateau Mas Neuf
Re: 2014 Chateau Mas Neuf
Only 2.5 g/L of sugar, but something special: the wine is aged in fût from Yquem... I can feel a touch of white honey.

I'm generalizing but I find it rare to have brightness in Rhone whites. It's almost surprising when I do encounter it. A few months ago, we had a white Gassierre (sp?) C-d-N that must have been near where yours was made, and it too was a little blurry, although flavorful.
