TN 2012 Barde Haut

Back from Costa Rica and after two weeks of overpriced Argentinian Malbec and Chilean Carmenere, I needed some Bordeaux so we opened this bottle and drank it with some chicken cutlets in a mushroom cream sauce.
Dark purple color, either Bordeaux doesn't smell like much lately or my sense of smell has gone downhill the last few years so I can't get much more than some earth and plum aromas (funny, but I don't get that in Pinot Noir or Nebbiolo, go figure). On the palate it is delicious, seamless and smooth with good core of fruit and yet very balanced. We finished the bottle and will be looking to buy a few more. A solid 93 for me.
