Apparently it has turned into a place where the cultural elite want to move to.

Some of you may remember that Mayor Juppe was a politican of national import once.

Arv,

You wrote "Some of you may remember that Mayor Juppe was a politican of national import once."

In fact, Jupppé is the leading contender for the nomination by the right wing party , Les Républicains, for the presidential elections in April/May 2017 (there are two rounds in France).
The polls even show him winning if he is the cnandidate.

The reaason you may have figured him a has-been is his age. He's 71.
He also got in trouble for paying party hacks a salary for imaginary jobs when he was at Paris City Hall. He was not allowed to hold public office for a couple of years and went to teach in Canada.

Long story short, he disappeared from the national scene until a year ago.

Let us hope he beats out Nicolas Sarkozy in the primary elections and that he becomes president!
It can only help Bordeaux.
And France, in my opinion.

Best regards,
Alex

How sad that Canada has become a modern Botany Bay for criminal politicians.

First Juppe, then Rob Ford.
