2012 Clusel-Roch Côte-Rôtie

Post by Nicklasss »

Unforgiven, young syrah from the Northern Rhône.

Dark color, nose of meat, fat bacon, black pepper, smoke, dark red berries, earth, minerals. In mouth, bitter red cherries, meat, earthy minerals. Strong tannins that is unconventional for Côte-Rôtie. Light bitterness, old wood, and some more dark cranberries, something like sweet berries and long tannic with burned dates. Long. Excelkent wine, directly aligned with traditionnal style and my palate. Tn: 91-92.

By the way, if you can join dstgolf and me, in Québec City, on November 25th or 26th, that could be really fun. But I know that even if you want and you can't, we're just postponning next time a little bit later.

At the very end of the bottle, the concentrated rasberries were there.

15-20 years is about right for these if you like a little maturity.
