I was rummaging around today and found a moth eaten one of these with suitably soiled label as you would in a Stephen King film based somewhere in Maine. Much maligned and denigrated, moreover more importantly, misunderstood, and written off, this is starting to come into its own. It has searing acidity, tension, tensile nervosity and alacrity. It is following in the exact footsteps of the 1988, we enjoyed with Tim and Danny. It is, of course, Chateau Mouton Rothschild, 1994.

I had a bottle a few years ago at a restaurant in Seattle. I was quite impressed. As I recall, it was rather unyielding at first, but once it got going had a lot to offer. Aromatic, good fruit and balance. Not a finesse Mouton, mind.
