TN: 1998 Château Quinault L'Enclos

Post by JimHow »

  • 2005 Château Quinault L'Enclos - France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru (6/11/2009)
'98 Quinault ended up being quite stunning in the end, with 1998 right bank chocolate and voluptuousness. I really like this wine, I have about a half dozen half bottles left. I remember Whuzzup sold the remaining bottles from his case purchase, he went long on the '98 right bank vintage and I think he was disappointed by the early results. But I think RMP was right on this vintage yet again. That '98 Pavie Decesse was a beauty in DC as well. 93 points. (93 pts.)

Being one of the few defenders of the 1998 Quinalt on release, I don't want to say "I told you so", but... Ah, what the heck. I told you so... :D

You know, I remember that, Mike.
You and Robert M. Parker were right on that one!
It's a lovely wine, and I would not have been certain about that around 2001 or so....
