2011 Ceretto Barbaresco
Not sure how this found its way to our local fine wine store but for $38 the downside seemed minimal. And the wine was quite enjoyable. I don't know much about Barbaresco but this was much more open and easy than those 2008 single vineyard Produttoris. Congrats also for what appears to be a nod to truth in labeling as this puppy sported the big 15% figure right on the label. It did have a bit of a heady glow although it did not come across as hot or rummy. Medium colored (much lighter of course than a cabernet and perhaps even a touch light for nebbiolo) this was expansive, nicely sweet, had a raft of fine tannin in the finish and not a whole lot of complexity. No problem drinking this now although I could see 5-10 years might bring out some other characteristics.

Quite a hot vintage too, hence the elevated abv. As Jacques says these are useful early drinkers.
