Ok I'm back from my attempted murder trial.

Gonna celebrate a big acquittal with a bottle of wine.

BD:

Nice haircut for the trial. I assume no reason for you to appeal the lesser charges?

I wouldn't want to see the crime scene as it sounds pretty gruesome.

There was blood everywhere.
He stabbed her three times and slit his wrist and smashed her head into the kitchen counter and floor.

Sorry, no disrepect intended, but that reminds me of a Monty Python skit I always liked.

Blood everywhere."

And not guilty of attempted murder. I can't imagine needing the services of a criminal trial attorney, but if I ever do, I hope it's in Maine and Jim is still practicing.

Ha David I was just thinking back to that four hour cross-examination of Tom-in-DC in Chicago into the wee hours of the morning. What a hostile witness I had on my hands. The trial this week was one of my top three most difficult of my career. The victim was so sympathetic, and the neighbors who came to the rescue were like superheroes. We had six witnesses who saw him stabbing her multiple times at the edge of the street in broad daylight, screaming he was going to "kill you, b***." If we had lost on the attempted murder count he would have gotten between 15-20 years in prison. He's still facing incarceration but now it'll be more like 3-5 years.

That night in Chicago was excruciating (or was it the headache the next day?) Jimmy LB How is just relentless when he has you on the bar stool, er, uh, on the witness stand.
