Re: More on 2014
Interesting. Maybe worth picking up a few.
Did you see the Sucker rated Ducru 99 points - maybe based on a notion that if he applies the most aggressive grade inflation he might draw attention to himself.
D'Issan is a go to estate these days.

Probably. (I do know what it means - you cut taxes and animal spirits are brought back to life, a bit like the Laffer Curve).
He is going to have a real problem with the 2016 vintage.
I was told by Frederic Frey and Nicolas Glumineau respectively that the 2016 Figeac and Pichon Lalande are a significant step up on the 2015s.
Given that J Sucker sprinkled 100 points scores like confetti on the 2015s he is going to have a big problem in reviewing the 2016s in a few weeks from now.
Parker has already encountered this problem when he was skewered by Frederic Engerer over the 2009 and 2010 Latours. Parker gave the 2009 100 points and Engerer got him to admit that the 2010 is much better. Parker's response? Simply that the scale stops at 100.

Re: More on 2014
Are the 2014s hitting the shelves yet?
I'd like to get some Calon Segur and Leoville Barton.

Re: More on 2014
I saw my first 2014's in late 2016 on the shelves in TW and fully expect more to begin popping up in the near future. I purchased a case of the 2014 Calon Segur from TW in Norwalk, CT as while it was listed at $69.98, when the pricing ends in .98 that means that the wine is applicable for their mix6 discount bringing the per btl cost down to $62.98 or the lowest price in the country as far as WS Pro is concerned. The store is literally just off the Merit parkway so it's easy to pop in and out. The website shows limited quantities available but I could probably give my concierge sales guy a ring to see if they have more in the warehouse for you so just let me know.

What is TW?
Are those wines in stock?
I'm looking for 6 bottles each of 2014 Calon Segur and 2014 Leoville Barton.

Total Wine and yes.

My daughter is a 2016 baby, so here's hoping the dollar remains strong.

Re: More on 2014
I am glad you were able to snap some up at this price as it is going to end up being considerably less than the next round of pricing at least for this wine. If necessary, I could always pick up your order for you when I go to pick mine up and then I could just just hold them for you until the next NYC get together, your call.

What's that noise? Something about buying young Bordeaux? Nah, must've been a squirrel on the roof. Next thread...

Re: More on 2014
Two months in a row I've purchased less wine than we've consumed . I think that could be a first. With the Convention, I am certain to make it 3 in a row, unless we find another amazing stash of 2002s at release pricing sitting on the dock of the bay.

I may take you up on that, JC, I'll get back to you. I got the confirmation last night that the order was placed, let's see if I get the email saying it has been filled.

I'll be down next weekend, JC, I'll pick them up then. I'd offer to pick yours up for you but I'm not sure whether I'll be picking them up on the way down or on the way back, it depends when I get out of court on Friday.
