Another premox Bourgogne and a great 2006 Bordeaux

Opened a bottle of the 2005 Chassagne-Montracher 1er Cru Vide Bourse from Larent et Fernand Pillot, my last bottle, premoxed like the two previous one. What a deception. I don't know what to think about the great white Bourgogne now...

To compensate, second bottle was the 2006 Chateau Pavie-Macquin, and it was again an excellent to great wine. Dark color, with a superb nose of rasberries, blackcurrants, minerals, vegetals, meat, confit cherries, spicy oak. A nice fragrant nose. In mouth, what is amazing is how that wine has a nice fruit, with a great fresh acidity that I've rarely met in Saint-Émilion. Very nice crushed rasberries, cinnamon, spices, blackberries, rhubarb flavors, with an integrated noble oak rich final, with earthy minerals and still long freshness acidic but confit too rasberries. Excellent and weirdly, I think that it is ready at 10 years age. Grainy tannins too, for length. Tn: 92-93.

Highly recommended.

Premoxed white Burgs = fake wine!
#Sad!

The Pavie Mac OTOH, sounds great.

Nice. I've not opened a P-M in a long time. They are dwindling treats nowadays!
