TN 2006 Domaine de Chevalier and 2004 Montrose

Post by AlohaArtakaHoundsong »

Briefly, the DdC seemed very ready. Still primaryish flavors but very soft structure and attenuated finish. Don't think this is one for long aging. Very tasty though. Very balanced neither acidity nor tannins prominent.

The Montrose can maybe hang a little longer. It does sport some sporty acidity out of the gate and a bit more cut than the DdC did. With time this rounded out to a nice, deeper and sweeter wine with a bit more punch in the finish. I'm indifferent as to drink or hold on this one. No rush but probably not much purpose in waiting either.

My 2006 Pavie Macquin seemed also ready last night, like your 2006 DdC.

The 2004 Montrose is like another beast, as I would guess most 2004 are probably on the right spot today.

Two nice wines you had there.
