Hi Alex.

Thanks for all these previews on 2016 red Bordeaux. Up to now (maybe I have the wrong interpretation of what you wrote), I guess this is the less successful area in 2016, except for the two top wines that we know.

Nic,

You know me... I'm kind of against dumbing down complicated realities to make simplifications.

But if pushed against the wall and forced to, I would say that the Left Bank impressed me more than the Right Bank, the the Médoc was best of all, and that Pessac-Léognan was a little disappointing.

Alex,

I've loved reading your 2016 series. Looks like Pessac may be your least impressive commune to date but you've perked my interest with the Malartic Lagraviere. Since we were there in 2005 I''ve bought many of the vintages including 05/06/08/09/10 and I think 14/15 are pending delivery. They've been doing a great job and from your notes the wine looks like it didn't disappoint. Just awaiting pricing on these guys to push me one way or the other.

Another excellent installment Alex. DdC looks pretty good too if you aren't oak averse and/or believe it will integrate over time.

BTW, fixed the link in your original post.
