Is 2014 looking like 2001 for value?

Given the break we all got over the weekend on 2016 futures I began reading as much as I can on 2014 and comments on what other have been able to try so far. I guess you can count me on the 2014 band wagon. A lot of the notes I'm reading really look attractive, especially on the left bank. The value play of 2014 vs. 2016 futures has been discussed so I won't rehash that except to say that for only a couple of points less than their 2016 counterpart the pricing is much more attractive.

Today I picked up a couple of 2014 Tour St. Christophe to see what all the buzz is about and I also got a half case of 2014 Meyney. It looks like it could be a very good value at $30/bottle. Next up I'm looking at Calon Segur, Pichon Lalande, Pichon Baron and Lynch Bages.

I'm curious what others are buying or seeking out at this point and is anyone seeing any great deals? It's looking like St Estephe did very well so Montrose and Cos could also be in play.

I miss the 2014 en primeur. I'm sad about it. It is a vintage to buy for sure.

Still waiting the prices of the 2016 futures here. I'm sure my balloon will blow soon and like all you in the US, will be desesperate in a few week about the prices.

We uncorked a 2014 Calon Segur in SF.
It was big.
A very serious wine, worth the $67 price I paid on sale in CT.
VERY different from the equally-delicious, lighter on its feet styled 2011.
